The North Area Fire Departments conducted hazmat familiarization at the Suncor Refinery in Commerce City on May 14th, 2024. Firefighters responding to an emergency at Suncor may have to engage in air monitoring, leak control and firefighting. Crews from Adams County Fire Rescue, Brighton Fire Rescue District, North Metro Fire Rescue District, South Adams County Fire Department, Thornton Fire Department, Westminster Fire Department and Suncor Energy Fire Department & Emergency Services participated in the familiarization.
