Fairmount I-70 Rollover MVA

At 08:21 on August 15th, 2024 Fairmount Fire Protection District and Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a MVA involving a rolled over semi at I-70 eastbound at Ward Rd. in Wheat Ridge. Jeffcom received multiple callers about the accident with a possible party trapped. Battalion 51 arrived to a rollover semi with a large debris field over booth sides of the highway in the construction zone with all lanes blocked and started the investigation. Rescue 52 arrived and assigned to start extrication with possible 3 patients trapped. Battalion 51 confirmed 2 confirmed fatal and CPR on a 3rd patient. Truck 31 arrived and started traffic safety and started patient care of the driver of the semi. 3 patients were transported to a local hospital and all were treated and released. The accident was a triple fatal on scene and Wheat Ridge Police Department is investigation of the accident. The Colorado State Patrol’s Vehicular Crimes Unit (VCU) Team was requested to the scene. I-70 was shut down for several hours.
