Oak Creek Fire Protection District

Oak Creek Fire Protection District, covering 278 square miles in Routt County (Colorado) including the areas of Bear Lake, Blue Valley Ranch, Creek Ranch, Edna Mine,  Elk Run Trail, Haybro, Henderson Park, Lynx Pass, Meadowgreen, Medicine Bow National Forest. Morningside, Oak Creek, Rattlesnake Butte, Routt National Forest, Sarvis Creek National Wilderness Area, Stagecoach, Stagecoach State Park, Thorpe Mountain, Trout Creek, Wetlands Trail, Whetstone Reservoir & Yampa Valley. Oak Creek Fire Protection District (District 8) originally was founded in 1912 as the Oak Creek Volunteer Fire Department and in 1981 the department was formed into the Oak Creek Fire Protection District.

Oak Creek Fire Protection District has mutual-aid or auto-aid agreements with the Craig Fire/Rescue, North Routt Fire Protection District, West Routt Fire Protection District & Yampa Fire Protection District.

Oak Creek Fire Protection District is dispatched by Routt County Communications.
