Central City Fire Department (CCFD), established in 1869 in Gilpin & Clear Creek Counties (Colorado) including the areas of Apex Valley, Bald Mountain, Boodle Mine, Central City Parkway, Chase Gulch, Colorado Mountain, Columbine Campground, Dakota Hill, King Flats, Knights of Pythias, Mac Rock, Nevadaville, Pine Creek, Prosser Gulch, Quartz Valley, Pecks Gulch, Silver Creek, Smith Gulch, Spring Gulch, Upper Apex, Virginia Canyon & William C. Russell Park. (FDID #04710)

Central City Fire Department took over fire service for Nevadaville Fire Department at a unknown year.

Timberline Fire Protection District taken over district coverage in 2017 from the CCFD former Station 2 that was located in Apex and became TFPD Station 10.

Central City Fire Department (30) has an auto-aid / or mutual-aid agreements with Black Hawk Fire Department, Clear Creek Fire Authority & Timberline Fire Protection District.
