Timberline Fire Protection District

Timberline Fire Protection District (TFPD), covering 209 square miles in Boulder, Gilpin & Jefferson Counties including the towns and areas of American City, Apex, Apex Valley, Arizona Mountain, Arapaho National Forest, Aspen Meadows, Aspen Springs, Baltimore, Baltimore Ridge, Black Hawk, Black Hills Shaft, Burns Gulch, Central City, Chalet Park, Coal Creek Canyon, Colorado Creek, Colorado Sierra, Corona, Dory Lakes, East Portal, Ellsworth Creek, Ely Hill, Forest Hills, Forsythe Canyon, Gilpin, Golden Gate Canyon-West, Grand Island, High Country, Jenny Creek, Karel Park Lake, Lake View, Lincoln Hills, Little Echo Lake, Los Lagos Reservoirs, Magnolia, Nevadaville, Lump Gulch, Mammoth Creek Reservoir, Mammoth Gulch, Manchester Lake, Missouri Creek, Missouri Lake, Moffat Tunnel-East, Moon Gulch, Mountain Meadows, Pactolus, Peak to Peak Highway, Perigo, Pinecliffe, Ridgewood, Rogers Pass Lake, Rollinsville, Rollins Pass, Roosevelt National Forest, Smith Hill, Snowline Lake, Thorn Lake, Tolland, Walker Ranch Park, Wideawake & Whispering Pines.

Timberline Fire Protection District was formed on April 1, 2011 when the Colorado Sierra Fire Protection District and the High Country Fire Protection District merged to form one district.

In 2017 the district took over Central City Fire Department Station 2 in Apex.

Timberline Fire Protection District is dispatched by Boulder County Communications.
