Morrison Station 1
Fire Station
The original fire station was located off Mt. Vernon Ave. circa 1947. The building served as the Morrison Town Offices, Police Department, Heritage Museum, Town Map Room, storage of the Town items and police uniform storage, before being demolished in 2018. Additional information of the history of the Morrison Volunteer Fire Department is provided by Joe Leo of the Morrison Police Department, Dwayne Rhodig and Garlan Mellberg, both from the former Morrison Volunteer Fire Department.
Fire Station
Fire Station was located at 321 Hwy. 8, dedicated on March 14th, 1970. This station also was part of Bancroft Fire Protection District (Colorado) Station 44 after the merge in 1973, and is currently the Morrison Police Department (Colorado) and Town Offices.
HOSE CART
The hose cart was purchased in 1916 for $50, and was the only fire equipment for the town until the 1929 Ford Model A / Barton was purchased in 1948.
UNIT No. 1
1929 Ford Model A / Barton, also ran as Engine No. 1, replaced the hose cart and was the town first motorized fire engine. Purchased in 1948 for $600 from Golden Fire Department (Colorado) Engine No. 1.
