Golden Box Truck Accident

On September 22nd, 2025 at 17:13 Jeffcom 911 dispatched Golden Fire Department and Stadium Medical to a MVA on I-70 at the mile marker 260 exit ramp to C-470 with reports of a box-truck that struck a power pole and the truck on fire with the fire spreading to the vegetation. Engine 24 arrived on scene to a box-truck resting on a power pole off of the right shoulder and on fire and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack. Engine 41 set-up with the water supply to Engine 24. Battalion 21 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. One patient was extricated and transported by Medic 23 to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. The power pole collapse with live lines over the truck which caused a large explosion and delayed the fighting of the fire and crews had to wait for Xcel Energy to cut power before attacking the fire. At 18:16 Xcel cut the power, which also caused outages to local customers and crews were able to rework on extinguishing the fire safety.
