Golden Brush Fire

Just before 15:00 on March 28th, 2012 Golden Fire Department received a 911 call about a fire west of 6th Ave. just south of 19th St. in Golden. Chief 1 arrived and established command on Hwy. 6. and mutual-aid was immediately called out. Crews were able to fully contain the fire within 40 minutes, and approximately two acres burned. It is believed the fire was caused by an electrical pole.  At the same time the fire started, power was knocked out to all homes in Golden west of 6th Ave. Xcel Energy was called in to fix the power line and restore power.
