At 17:58 on August 23rd, 2012 Loveland Fire Rescue Authority was dispatched to a structure fire at 616 W. 9th St. A 911 caller reported that smoke was coming from the attic of the house. Loveland Police officers were first on scene and initial reports indicated there was someone still inside the home, and officers did a primary search of the residence and determined nobody was home. Crews arrived and found smoke in the roof line, front door and the eaves, and crews did another search of the residence for any parties trapped, and then located the fire inside the house towards the rear of the structure and controlled it quickly. A neighbor reportedly opened the door before fire crews arrived and let out three dogs inside the home, a fourth dog walked out under its own power after fire crews located it inside the home and was administered oxygen. Fire Investigators determined the origin of the blaze to be the bathroom, although exact cause is under investigation. Once the fire was under control and the scene was being mopped up, Truck 6 crews gave some curious neighborhood children a tour of their apparatus and tools used daily on the job.
