Thornton Basement Fire

On November 14th, 2012 Thornton Fire Department to a structure fire at E. 89th Place. Thornton Police Officers arrived and reported smoke showing from the rear of the basement of a single-family 2-story dwelling. Medic 71 arrived on scene and went into offensive fire attack mode as a two person crew with a water can. Engine 31 established a water supply and attack lines with Engine 72 and Engine 63. Chief 74 arrived on scene and established command, and confirmed a working fire in the basement and asked for a working fire tone. Engine 63 helped fill out a fire attack group entering from the Alpha side, while Truck 74 and Truck 43 conducted ventilation and extension operations.  The fire was declared out within 20 minutes with no injuries reported. The fire is under investigation.
