Denver MVA Fuel Spill

Denver Fire Department responded to an injury accident on westbound I-70 at Pecos St. around 14:00 on January 18th, 2014. A Jeep Wrangler traveling westbound on the Interstate collided with a semi truck from Sinton Dairy while attempting to exit at Pecos. The jeep ran off the left side of the road and came to rest against a concrete divider. The semi pulled over onto the right shoulder with a ruptured fuel tank. Engine 9 drew a line as a precaution while Tower 9 worked to plug the leak and contain the fuel. Hamer 1 who was also dispatched to the incident, and was cleared as they approached the scene. The off ramp was closed for about an hour while crews worked to contain the spill and police investigated the accident.
