Fire Academy Graduation

After months of grueling academy training and hours of intense studying, thirty recruits from five departments along the I-70 corridor became new firefighters on June 7th, 2015. Recruits with Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue, Byers Fire Protection District, Deer Trail Rural Fire Protection District, Sable Altura Fire Rescue and Strasburg Fire Protection District took their oath of office and received their badges at a combined graduation ceremony at the Bennett Recreation Center. Aurora Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Mike Stanley, Strasburg Recruit Cody Shinkle and Sable Altura Recruit Jenna McGrath were the featured speakers. Congratulations to class 2015-1!
