The Bennett Fire Protection District held a pancake breakfast and open house at Station 91 in Bennett on July 9th, 2016. Local residents were able to enjoy breakfast, meet with firefighters, check out some of the apparatus and tour the station. The department used this event as an opportunity to discuss their future needs.  Bennett would like to place a ballot question in the November election asking for a mill levy increase in order to build a new station.

The Bennett Fire Protection District is a special district governed by a board of directors and not part of the Town of Bennett. They currently collect a mill levy tax of 8.907, which is based on assessed property value. They are an all hazards response agency that provides firefighting, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, and aircraft rescue/ firefighting to 325 square miles in both Adams and Arapahoe Counties including the Town of Bennett, the Watkins area and Front Range Airport.
