Clear Creek Water Rescue

Around 17:00 on July 21st, 2019 Golden Fire Department & Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a water rescue in Clear Creek Canyon (Hwy. 6) at Tunnel # 1. Jeffcom 911 advised units that 911 caller reporting that a person was wading in the water and got too close to the water current and was swept away in Clear Creek. Crews used Central Fire Dispatch (CNF) TAC 3 for search operations, with crews setting-up at various locations along the creek. Crews located the body and pulled the victim out of the water near the pedestrian bridge by Grant Terry Park. CRP was performed, but crews were unable to revive the victim. Clear Creek Canyon was closed in both directions for several hours for fire operations and the investigation.
