2nd Alarm Building Fire

At approximately 17:35 on March 27th, 2019 Weld County Regional Communications Center alerted Greeley Fire Department to the report of an explosion and fire at 2123 2nd Ave. in Greeley.  911 callers reported hearing an explosion and then seeing black smoke and flames coming from a large building.  Engine 4 arrived on scene to working fire in a large commercial building.  Engine 4 immediately requested a 2nd Alarm response sending 2 additional Engines to the fire.  Crews advanced attack lines into the building and started extinguishment and search of the entire building. The fire was brought under control within 11 minutes of arrival of the first engine.  All searches of the building were clear of anyone left inside. Upon investigation the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.  There were no injuries to any civilians or firefighters.
