Livermore Station 1 Open House 2019
Livermore Open House
The Livermore Fire Protection District held an open house and chili cook off at Station 1 in Livermore on October 26th, 2019. The local community in northern Larimer County came out in force to meet with firefighters, check out the newly remodeled station, and vote for their favorite homemade chili. The Larimer County Rangers & Larimer County Sheriff Wildland Team also participated in the open house.
Golden firefighter Thomas D. Young was an honored guest in attendance for the festivities. In July 1990 Young was seriously injured during the rescue of a downed hang glider pilot on Lookout Mountain and was left paralyzed from the neck down. The Golden Fire Department dedicated a 1991 Pierce Dash engine to Tom. Last year, the engine was sold to Livermore who remarked it but opted to leave it dedicated to Tom.
