Big Chili Cook-Off 2021

The 20th Annual Big Chili Cook-Off, Music & Arts Festival was held on September 11th, 2021 at Buchanan Park in Evergreen. The event featured a chili cook-off competition, music, Flight for Life display and more. The winner of the “Best Fire Department Chili” was Evergreen Fire “Evergreen Fire Red 2”. The event also featured the annual firefighter’s challenge competition. Clint Sayler of Platte Canyon Fire was the winner with 2 minutes and 0 seconds and for 2nd place Chris Volek of Evergreen Fire with 2 minutes and 8 seconds. This was Clint Sayler 5th time as a winner in the firefighter’s challenge. The Big Chili Cook-Off benefits the Mountain Area Fire Departments including Elk Creek Fire Protection District, Evergreen Fire Protection District, Indian Hills Fire Protection District, Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District, North Fork Fire Protection District, and Platte Canyon Fire Protection District.
