Cherry Creek Trail Grass Fire

On September 1th, 2021 at 10:20 Aurora Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue were dispatched to a reported vegetation fire along the Cherry Creek Trail near Interstate 225 and Parker Road. Aurora Engine 7 arrived on scene and found a small grass fire on the north side of Cherry Creek Dam near a homeless encampment. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and spent about thirty minutes on scene mopping up hot spots. No injuries were reported.
