Erie Basement Fire

At 14:15 on May 5th, 2021 Boulder County Communications Center dispatched Mountain View Fire Rescue and Lafayette Fire Department to a reported residential structure fire in the 2200 Block of Holly Dr. in Erie. Fire Dispatch indicated a fire in the basement with evacuation in progress. Operations were assigned to FTAC 11 and Erie Police Department was also dispatched. En route, Battalion 2660, referencing the notes in the call, requested to Fill The Box, initiating a working fire response. Engine 2208 arrived on scene to a 2-story, single-family structure, nothing showing, and established Holly Command in the offensive strategy, and pulled a cross-lay for fire attack. Engine 2208 officer completed his 360-degree size-up of the structure, nothing showing from 4 sides, electrical fire in the basement, no change in Incident Action Plan. Battalion 2660 arrived and assumed Holly Command, understanding that Engine 2208 had an electrical fire in the basement, in the offensive strategy. Fire attack located a cardboard fire in the basement, smoldering at the time, and stated they could handle with a water can. Truck 2219 arrived positioning in back of Engine 2208, on deck. Engine 2601 arrived, staged on Holly, up the street and was assigned on-deck. Medic 2621 arrived an level one staged at Skyline Dr. and Holly Dr.. Truck 2219 completed ventilation, the primary and secondary searches were proved negative. The fire is under investigation.
