Commercial Structure Fire

At 08:50 on on February 27th, 2021 Estes Valley Fire Protection District was dispatched for a reported commercial structure fire at the Elkins Distilling, 1825 N. Lake Ave. Estes Park Emergency Communications Center (EPECC) advised numerous calls reporting of an explosion and blown out walls with smoke and some flames showing. Battalion Chief 71 arrived on scene with Engine 72 and established command, Engine 72 advised of smoke showing with a structure collapse, and pulled a line in for fire attack. Chief 70 arrived and reported active fire interior on the Charlie side with a collapsed ceiling. Ladder 71 arrived and assisted with fire attack and the primary search, and Engine 71 secured the water supply with a 5′ LDH lay to the fire scene. Crews got the fire under control and started overhaul and the investigation. Two employees were transported by Estes Park Health Paramedics with unknown injuries.
