West Pleasant View Mobile Home Fire
Fatal Mobile Home Fire
At 23:54 on September 16th, 2021 Pleasant View Fire Department, Golden Fire Department and Fairmount Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire involving a medical in the 17100 block of Mount Vernon Rd. at the Mountainside Estates Mobile Home Park in West Pleasant View. Jeffcom (Central Fire Dispatch – CNF) advised to stage from Jefferson County Sheriff deputies that arrived on the call of a disturbance with a medical on Ulysses St. & E St. with a fully involved trailer. Engine 41 arrived on scene to a confirmed working fire from a single trailer on E St. with heavy fire from all sides, pulled a 2 1/2 line in for fire attack in the defensive strategy and secured their own water supply with Truck 41 assisting with fire attack and exposures. Medic 22 arrived and transported the injured party to a local hospital with serious injuries unrelated to the fire. Battalion 30 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side, and requested 2 additional engines, 1 tower and 2 more medics to the scene. District 1 assigned as safety, and Medic 21 to medical. Tower 21 arrived and assisted with fire attack on the Alpha side, Engine 6 assisted Engine 21 and Truck 31 with fire attack on the Charlie side. Engine 5 secured a 2nd water supply to Engine 21 on F St. Crews were able to get the fire under control and started an extended overhaul and the investigation. Jefferson County Sheriff Investigators verified there was one deceased individual inside the residence. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported from the fire.
