Wheat Ridge Restaurant Fire

At 10:16 on November 20th, 2021 West Metro Fire Rescue with auto-aid from Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a reported structure fire at the King of Wings, 7741 W. 44th Ave. in Wheat Ridge. Engine 16 arrived to a stand alone restaurant with smoke and flames from the roof, established their own water supply and pulled a line in for fire attack. Battalion Chief 51 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy, assigned Engine 51 with primary search, and Rescue 52 to assist Engine 16 with fire attack. Engine 3 arrived and assigned with utilities, and Medic 51 as medical. Crews got the fire quickly controlled with no extension into the attic space, and started overhaul. The cause of the fire was an accidental kitchen fire and no injuries were reported. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue.
