Community Disaster Expo

The first ever Jefferson County Community Disaster Expo was held at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 15200 W. 6th Ave. in Golden. The community came out for fun activities for kids and adults, disaster preparedness, microchipping with low cost vaccines for household pets, emergency vehicles on display including Foothills Fire Protection District, emergency response demonstrations from the Jefferson County Sheriff K-9 to animal rescues. Code 3 Associates Animal Rescue Team, Alpine Rescue Team, American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, Front Range Animal Evacuation Team, Jefferson County Animal Control, Jefferson County Pet Disaster Relief, Jeffcom Incident Dispatch Team, Jeffco Heat (Jefferson County Horse Evacuation Team), Colorado State Patrol, Humane Society, Foothills Animal Shelter, Rotary Club of Evergreen Wildfire Ready and other participated in the event.
