On August 17th, 2022 the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport conducted an emergency drill with a simulated aircraft crash. The drill tested the communication systems that would be used during an aircraft accident. ARFF rigs from Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport Fire (ARFF) and North Metro Fire Rescue District responded to several aircraft accidents that was off the runway with unknown fuel and people on board. Crews arrived to smoke and fire showing and pulled a line in for interior fire attack. Crews also used the drill for familiarization of the SCBA and tools that are on the rigs.
