West Metro Vegetation Fire

At 12:59 on March 31st, 2023 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 4 was dispatched to a possible vegetation in the 13000 block of W Kentucky Dr. At 13:00 the call was upgraded to a working vegetation fire structures threatened with automatic-aid from South Metro Fire Rescue. Enroute, an Engine Strike Team was requested due to structures threatened which pulled aid from Golden Fire Department, Pleasant View Fire Department and Arvada Fire Protection District. JeffCom advised units enroute the fire started as a small brush fire in the front yard of the address, winds were 38 mph, humidity 19% with a temperature of 48°. Engine 4 arrived on scene of a small brush fire in the front yard of the house, pulled a line for fire attack and requested everyone to continue in for Level 1 Staging. District 2 arrived on scene and took over command. Engine 9 secured the water supply to Engine 4 and additional companies staged for assignments. Engine 4 verified the structure had not sustained extension from the fire and advised the fire could be handled with companies on scene. The fire was held to the bushes in front of the house and the fire was under investigation.
