On July 15th, 2023 the Teller County Office of Emergency Management held an emergency preparedness event at the Summit Elementary School in Divide. The community was invited to talk to first responders, sign up for emergency alerts, participate in a fire extinguisher demo, learn first aid, and learn how to change a tire. The Colorado State Patrol, Divide Fire Protection District, Mountain Communities Volunteer Fire Department, Northeast Teller County Fire Protection District, Florissant Fire Protection District, Peterson Air Force Base Fire & Emergency Services, Teller County Search and Rescue, Teller County Sheriff’s Office and Ute Pass Regional Paramedic Services were on hand at the event.
