Big Chili Cook-Off 2024

The 23rd annual Big Chili Cook-Off, Music & Arts Festival was held at Buchanan Park in Evergreen on September 7th, 2024. The event featured a chili cook-off competition with 44 chili cooks and 72 different chilis, with booths, music and more. The winner of the was Evergreen Fire “Porky’s Green Inferno” . The event also featured the annual firefighter’s challenge competition. Ben Capithorn of Indian Hills Fire was the winner of the men’s division with 1 minutes and 44.6 seconds and Kelsey McCauley of Elk Creek Fire was the winner of the Women’s Division with 3 minutes 50 seconds. This was Ben Capithorn 2nd time as a winner in the firefighters challenge. The Big Chili Cook-Off event proceeds to benefits the mountain area local fire departments including Elk Creek Fire Protection District, Evergreen Fire Protection District, Foothills Fire Protection District, Indian Hills Fire Protection District, Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District, North Fork Fire Protection District, and Platte Canyon Fire Protection District.  For more information on upcoming events, check out the 5280Fire Calendar.
