Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District was originally formed in 1954 when homeowners and tenants in the South Turkey Creek, North Turkey Creek and Deer Creek Canyons came together to discuss the creation of a local fire squad, and the name was chosen as the Inter-Canyon Fire Company. In 1956 the Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District was formed.
Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District is part of the 285 corridor fire departments and has an auto-aid / or mutual-aid agreements with Elk Creek Fire Protection District, Evergreen Fire Protection District, Indian Hills Fire Protection District, North Fork Fire Protection District & Platte Canyon Fire Protection District.
