Brighton Weed Fire

On July 11th, 2014 Brighton Fire Rescue District responded to a reported weed fire along the South Platte River at Hwy. 7. Crews arrived to a wind driven weed fire and started fire attack. The fire burned approximately twenty acres along the river bottom. No structures were damaged and no one was injured. Crews were assisted by Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control Type 4 Engine during the overhaul/mop-up operations. Additional information proved by Brighton Fire Rescue District
