At 11:28 on February 19th, 2016 North Metro Fire Rescue District was dispatched to a brush fire near the intersection of W. 120th Ave. (Co. 128) and Eldorado Blvd. The fire, which consumed approximately 28 acres, burned down a steep ravine fairly close to a housing development in Superior. No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported. Highway 128 was closed for several hours while crews from across the north metro area worked to contain the blaze. Firefighters set backfires and worked throughout the afternoon to mop up hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
