Fire On The Plains

The Second Annual Fire on the Plains conference, a 3 day event was held from July 20th to 22nd, 2018 at the Northeastern Junior College in Sterling. Firefighters from Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska were on hand featuring a variety of training platforms including live fire, vehicle extrication, command, driving, firefighter skills, brush fires, traffic incidents, rural water supply, EMS skills and more. Other training’s were held at the Sterling Fire Protection District Training Center which included live fire events using the MLFTU (Mobile Live Fire Training Unit). The MLFTU is one of two units that is owned by the Colorado Department of Fire Prevention and Control, and is available for use by any fire department in the state.
