At approximately 10:25 March 5th, 2018, Aurora Fire Rescue, South Metro Fire Rescue and Sable Altura Fire Rescue were dispatched to a grass fire along the east side of E-470 just north of E. Jewell Avenue. Heavy smoke was visible for several miles. Crews arrived on scene and went to work with brush trucks and hand lines. About 30 acres were burned. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
