Denver 2nd Alarm Structure Fire

At approximately 17:10 on March 24th, 2018 Denver Fire Department was dispatched to a multi-family residential structure fire at 1811 S. Quebec Way. in the Indian Creek area. The first arriving Engine 19 found heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of a 2-story townhome with extremely strong winds that were blowing out of the south. Engine 19 pulled an attack line in for interior attack, Tower 22 started a primary search and Engine 18 secured a supply line. Chief 4 arrived with command, and assigned Rescue 2 as roof and Truck 19 to assist with search. A second alarm was toned out as the fire spread to four separate units, and dangerous conditions due to the wind driven fire with almost zero visibility from the smoke. About 70 firefighters spent over an hour battling the blaze and mopping up hotspots. The building sustained heavy damage however no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information was provided by Denver Fire Department.
