Arapahoe County Grass Fire

On August 25, 2019 at approximately 12:20 Aurora Fire Rescue and several other departments in Eastern Arapahoe County were dispatched to a wildland fire in the 700 block of S. Powhaton Rd.  Firefighters arrived on scene and found a significant vegetation fire in a grassy area some distance away from any structures. Crews went to work battling the blaze on the ground and in brush trucks while other firefighters shuttled water to the rural local in tenders.  Crews were on scene for several hours mopping up hot spots. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened.
