Superior Haz-Mat

On April 23rd, 2020 at 14:45 Rocky Mountain Fire District Engine 2405 & Louisville Fire Protection District Battalion 2760 were alerted to a fire alarm at the Sport Stable Complex, 1 Superior Dr. Dispatch updated the incident and advised that Boulder County Sheriff on scene reporting an ammonia leak in the building, and Command 2760 requested a full county hazardous materials response. Engine 2405 arrived to a large sports complex with nothing showing, evacuations in process of the building, and started the investigation. Command and staging was set-up at Main St. & Promenade Dr. At 16:18 Haz-Mat 2253 re-positioned to the south side of the building and began setting up. Haz-Mat 2655 moved in and began preparing for entry. Crews found the source and was able to contain the incident with assistance from two of the building techs. The incident took over 6 hours to mitigated. No other information is available at this time.
