Longmont Coffman Street 2nd Alarm Fire
Longmont Structure Fire
Around 17:00 on April 28th, 2020 Longmont Emergency Communication Center (LECC) dispatched Longmont Fire Department to a structure fire in the 100 block of Coffman St. Thick black smoke could be seen for many miles as many firefighters worked to put out the abandoned single story structure. Crews battled intense fire conditions and roof collapse which put the fire into a defensive fire and 2nd alarm was requested. The fire also caused a power outage in the area due to being around 12 feet from the Longmont Power & Communication electric substation, and the power station was shut down. The fire was put out around 19:00 and crews started an extended overhaul. No injuries reported and the fire is under investigation. No other information is available at this time.
