RidgeGate Parkway Vegetation Fire
South Metro Vegetation Fire
On November 7th, 2020 at 09:38 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported vegetation fire south of RidgeGate Parkway and east of Interstate 25 in Lone Tree. Engine 44 arrived and found a growing vegetation fire about the size of two football fields near some electrical transmissions lines about 1/2 to 3/4 miles south of RidgeGate Parkway. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze using brush trucks and hand tools. Firefighters were on scene about two hours mopping up hop spots, and the fire burned about 20 acres. The cause of the fire is believed to be caused by an electrical transmission line nearby and no injuries were reported.
