On October 18th, 2021 at 03:04 Jeffcom (Central Fire Dispatch (CNF) dispatched Fairmount Fire Protection District and Golden Fire Department to responded to a reported wildland fire on South Table Mountain off W. 32nd Ave. & Virgil St. Upon arrival Brush 31 upgraded the call to a large brush fire and requested for mutual-aid from surrounding departments. Truck 31 arrived to a grass fire mid-slope with active flames moving uphill and about 100×100 with moderate spread. Engine 21 and Brush 31 arrived and started access to the fire. Brush 6 and Brush 9 accessed the fire by Quaker St. on the South side from the Colorado State Patrol Academy. Battalion Chief 30 arrived and assumed command on the W. 32nd Ave. side increasing in size around 100×200 and moving to the east. Crews pulled several attack lines and the fire was contained at 04:51 and crews worked overhaul on hot spots until around 06:00. The fire burned approximately 5 acres and the cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by Fairmount Fire Protection District
