On June 18th, 2022 at 13:02 Brighton Fire Rescue District was dispatched to a technical trench rescue at 1910 Peregrine Drive. Authorities reported that a trench collapsed on a worker at the residence where work was being done on a sewer line at the time of the collapse. At 13:12 command requested a major incident tone and asked AdCom to advise surrounding battalion chiefs of a working trench rescue. South Adams Battalion 21 was assigned staging officer and at 13:53 the North Area Technical Rescue Team was advised of an extended operational period.  Command requested Denver Fire Department, Arvada, Westminster, and Adams County assist with rescue techs for manpower. Crews spent several hours shoring up the sides of the trench and removing dirt from the hole. Firefighters found the body of a 35-year-old man just after 17:00 and were able to remove him from the trench at about 20:25.
