Golden Grass Fire

On July 8th, 2022 at approximately 11:30 Jeffcom (Central Fire Dispatch – CNF) dispatched Golden Fire Department, Fairmount Fire Protection District and Pleasant View Fire Department were dispatched to a grass fire along Highway 6 just south of 19th St. by the Colorado School of Mines survey field. Crews arrived on scene and found a moderate fire moving quickly up a steep hill, away from the highway. Firefighters spent about an hour on scene extinguishing the fire and mopping up hot spots. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
