Wiens Ranch Fire
On February 23rd, 2024 around 12:15 Larkspur Fire Protection District was alerted to a brush fire near 5500 S. Perry Park Rd. in southern Douglas County. Engine 161 and Brush 162 arrived and found smoke showing from the Wiens Ranch and made access in muddy conditions. Crews found 2 separate wind driven fires around 20 acres and then updated with-in minutes to around 60 acres. Douglas County’s helicopter was requested and made several water drops. The fire burned 153 acres and was contained at 16:45 and crews worked hot spots until the next morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no structures were impacted.
