At 12:21 on November 3rd, 2022 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched for a reported multi-family structure fire at Club Valencia, 1300 S. Parker Rd. Battalion 5 requested the call be upgraded to confirmed structure fire based on MDT notes, adding a confirmed response balance. South Metro Emergency Communications advised Battalion 5, while enroute, multiple callers were reporting multiple units on fire with some evacuation and shelter in place due to smoke in the hallways. At 12:27 Battalion 5 requested a second alarm due to limited information, and Engine 21 arrived on scene with a mega three-story, multiple dwellings with a working fire on the second floor, and extending to the third floor. Engine 21 called an offensive strategy, stretching a 1 3/4 from the exterior, going for search and taking command. Engine 21 located a person in a wheelchair and called for two additional medic units over the second alarm. Engine 22 and Aurora Engine 11 were assigned primary search on the 2nd floor while Battalion 5 took command and Engine 21 remained in fire attack and rescue. Engine 21 located the seat of the fire on the second floor and reported water on the fire. Engine 42 arrived within a minute of water on the fire and was assigned the third floor for primary search and fire attack with an additional horizontal standpipe. Ladder 32 arrived and was assigned all in ladders for victim rescue on the Charlie side. Command requested 8 additional medic units and requested all medic units on the fire stage on Parker Rd. with Chief 12 as medical group supervisor. At 13:01 Engine 42 reported the fire was under control in the fire unit and at 13:14 command reported the fire under control and kept the current assignment for extended mop-up and overhaul. Multiple people were removed, rescued, and assisted, 3 injuries were reported, and 85 units were displaced. Over 15 people were evaluated on scene and three patients were transported to the hospital for further evaluation with minor injuries. American Red Cross was requested to assist.
