Turkey Tracks Fire

The Turkey Tracks Fire was reported on April 12th, 2025 at 16:29 in southwest Douglas County near Hwy. 67 and the Turkey Tracks shooting area. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office requested helicopter air support. DFPC Firehawk dropped water on the fire and many fire departments from all over the area arrived for fire support. Campers were advised to evacuate, as crews continued their offensive efforts to contain the wild fire. Northbound Hwy. 67 was closed at Rainbow Falls while crews maintained a hold at the roadside edge. Park authorities and law enforcement agencies will continue their investigation as to the location of the fire’s ignition point and source. 100% containment was achieved on April 15th at 12:55 and effected 128 total acres.
