Brighton Grain Mill Fire

At 07:36 on February 8th, 2019 Adcom dispatched Brighton Fire Rescue District Engine 51 to an outside smoke investigation at N. Main St. & Denver St. Engine 51 arrived on scene to a large 2-story commercial building with smoke and flames showing, and started fire attack on the Delta side, with defensive operations. The fire was upgraded to a working structure fire, and Engine 55 arrived and secure a water supply to Engine 51. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha-Bravo corner, with a fully involved fire in the vacant Arthur Grain Mill, and requested a 2nd alarm. Truck 53 arrived and assigned as aerial ops on the Alpha side, Engine 27 secured a water supply to Truck 53, and Engine 66 arrived and pulled a water supply in from Denver St. Crews worked the fire in single digit temperatures with multiple attack lines. Brighton Police Department closed down N. Main St. for fire ops. Crews worked for several hours on overhaul. The fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
