Kipling Street Fatal Accident

At 19:37 on September 30th, 2019 Jeffcom 911 alerted West Metro Fire Rescue to a traffic collision at Kipling St. and W. 35th Ave. in Wheat Ridge. Engine 17 arrived to a two-vehicle head-on crash with heavy damage and advised to start an extraction response. District 1 arrived and assumed command, and Rescue 52 arrived and assigned as rescue group supervisor. Medic 16 transported one patient to a local hospital and requested a T-10 (Trauma Room 10) activation, and one victim was deceased on scene. Kipling St. was closed for several hours to both northbound and southbound from W. 32nd Ave. to W. 38th Ave for the investigation, and reopened early the next morning.
