Golden House Fire

Around 03:59 on February 8th, 2021 Golden Fire Department and Stadium Medical with auto-aid from Pleasant View Fire Department and Fairmount Fire Protection District to a fully involved residential structure fire in the 400 block of N. Ford St. Jeffcom advised that Golden Police Department on scene reported a fully involved structure with possibly two cats inside. Engine 21 arrived to a medium size fully involved single-story residential structure, and pulled 2 1/2 attack line to the Alpha side. Engine 32 established the water supply, and Battalion 22 arrived and assumed command. Chief 21 arrived and took over command and assigned Battalion 22 as safety. Medic 21 arrived and set-up as rehab. Tower 21 arrived and assigned for exposure protection on the Bravo side, Engine 32 reassigned to pull a hand line and assist Engine 21 with fire attack, and Engine 41 with utilities and primary search. Battalion 22 reported live power lines down in the backyard, and Xcel was requested. Crews worked heavy fire conditions and the fire was declared as defensive operations. Command requested Arvada Fire Protection District for assistance. Tower 21 started master stream ops with Truck 31. Engine 58 was assigned defensive attack with the deck gun on the Charlie side, Rescue 52 was assigned as RIT, and Battalion Chief 52 assisted command. Rescue 21 arrived and assisted Medic 21 with rehab, and command requested additional engine and medic to the scene. Engine 6 arrived and assisted with fire attack. The fire was extinguished by 06:11 and fire crews began to a extended overhaul and investigation. One occupant and two cats were in the house at the time, and the occupant was evacuated safely, and both cats were found ok. American Red Cross was also requested.
