North Metro Fire Rescue District in cooperation with Paratech hosted Blue Collar Rescue School at the Crestone Peak Resources Wattenberg Yard, 1495 Weld County Rd. 11, on July 17th, 2022. Trench rescue, one of the most dangerous rescue operations to complete, involves shoring up the sides of a trench, and digging a trapped person out of a collapsed ditch. Firefighters from Arvada Fire Protection District, Berthoud Fire Protection District, Black Forest Fire Protection District, Boulder Fire-Rescue DepartmentBrighton Fire Rescue District, Evans Fire Protection District, Fort Carson Fire & Emergency Services, Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District, Genoa Rural Volunteer Fire Department, Greeley Fire Department, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, Mountain View Fire Rescue, North Metro, Poudre Fire Authority and Westminster Fire Department participated in the training.
