Westminster 2nd Alarm Fire

On February 23rd, 2022 just before 13:30 Westminster Fire Department with auto-aid from Adams County Fire Rescue responded to a reported explosion and fire at the Stratus Townhomes, 8300 Sheridan Blvd. Crews arrived to a large 8-unit structure with heavy fire showing and a 2nd alarm was requested. Firefighters worked in the single digits temperatures, and were able to get the fire under control around 14:20. Two residents were treated on scene with minor injuries and one firefighter was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. Sheridan Blvd. was shut down for several hours from W. 80th Ave to W. 88th Ave. Thornton Fire Department and North Metro Fire Rescue District backfilled the district for calls.
