Jefferson County Multi-Agency Wildland Training 2023
Wildland Fire Training Exercise
On April 15th, 2023 Genesee Fire Protection District and Foothills Fire Protection District participated in a multiagency wildland fire training exercise near Genesee. Crews responded to a report of a simulated fire near a home in Ralston Ranch. The ensuing wildland fire spread quickly moving north towards Interstate 70 and east over the ridge towards Genesee. While simulating a response firefighters got familiar with the terrain and discussed the resources and tactics needed to fight an aggressive wildland fire and protect homes.
