At approximately 17:00 on December 31st, 2011 Loveland Fire Rescue Authority was dispatched to a call involving a horse trapped in a trailer which had come detached from the towing vehicle on Hwy. 34. Crews arrived on scene and called for the Special Operations Team Veterinarian to assist in sedating the horse long enough to use the Jaws of Life. Crews remove the rear support bar from the trailer and pull the horse from the trailer. Once the sedative had worn off the horse was able to walk on its own to another trailer standing by to evaluate it further. A second horse was not injured.
